Valentine Marshmallow Pops
What do you do with your grandchildren for Valentine's

In the last few years, one of my favorite things to do with the grandchildren around holidays or celebrations is to include them in making treats.

Not only is it fun for them, but they also have the time of their life getting to use their creativity and imagination, not to say their appetites too -- for all those yummy ingredients.

This year I wanted to do something that they could dip chocolate in since I had so much left over from Christmas.

At first, I thought of strawberries (and they love those), then I thought about cake balls (and they love those), but I saw these strawberry marshmallows at Walmart and decided that they would be fun to dip too.

To add little piazzas to them, I bought some Valentine's sprinkles, and as you can see in the picture also, the coconut added a nice touch also. Yummy!

My grandchildren are all different, with each one using their own gifts and talents.

It was no different making these chocolate dipped marshmallows. Some of them sprinkled coconut, red crystals, and heart sprinkles, and some only wanted just plain dipped chocolate.

One of them formed a continuous string of dipped chocolate that hardened altogether.

My grandchildren, years from now, may forget about what or how they dipped these strawberry marshmallows, and that is ok.

What I do want them to remember is that my time is a very special gift that I have to give them because it's the most precious thing I own, it's one thing I can't buy.

The most powerful influence we can have on our grandchildren is to be in their life and to pray for them strategically and biblically so that God would open the eyes of their understanding.

They had a wonderful time making these Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Marshmallows.

We want to wish everyone a Happy Valentines!

24-30 craft sticks
1 2 oz. bottle confetti hearts

In a medium microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate almond bark in the microwave 2-4 minutes at 30 SECOND intervals until chocolate almond bark is melted; set aside.

Pour coconut, confetti hearts, decorating crystals, and beads into separate shallow bowls. (I use a muffin tin)

Place marshmallows on the end of the craft stick by pushing it just to the end.

Dip each marshmallow in the chocolate and let drip until the chocolate is set (not dry).

Roll dipped chocolate into decorating pieces and set a stick in the styrofoam upright to harden.
