King's Hawaiian French Toast

King's Hawaiian French Toast,  thick slightly sweet bread dipped in egg-milk mixture and lay in a hot skillet with melted butter and brown until golden.  With the perfect sweetness of the bread, a little syrup is necessary! What is it, you see these recipes and you keep thinking you are going to make them and then they are forgotten.

Granny's Buttermilk Pound Cake

The Buttermilk Pound Cake recipe goes way back to the 50s when my Mother started making it. The star of the pound cake is the buttermilk. One of my favorite and dearest recipes, which my Mother passed down to me, is this delicious Lemon Buttermilk Pound Cake .

Chicken Cacciatore

Chicken Cacciatore , a perfect dish to make for any gathering. You can use a whole cut up chicken or your favorite chicken parts! Posting another chicken recipe was not what I planned to do, but here lately we have been eating out of the freezer, and I had several whole chickens, chicken thighs, and breast from buying them on sale.

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Homemade Chicken Noodle , made from scratch, brimming with wholesome chicken and plenty of carrots and egg noodles.  Simply nourishing! We have had a good bit of cold weather, and not to mention snow this year that gets me in the mood to make homemade soup often. Chicken Noodle Soup is one of my favorite soups to make, even though when I get ready to make it, I usually reach for the venison meat or beef roasts, thinking it is quicker and easier. Actually, it is not -- you use as few ingredients or in some cases the same, and what is great also is that I do the one pot method. I slowly cook a whole chicken in a stock pot and removed it while I cook the vegetables in that wonderful chicken broth. I used ready available vegetables that I have on hand like celery, onions, carrots, and this time I happened to have some leeks, which I love in soup.  Then I added the big chunks of chicken back in with the noodles and simmered it for awhile. There is something

Homemade Monkey Bread {BHG Golden Bubble Ring}

There are no surprises when it comes to making the nostalgic and all time favorite  Homemade Monkey Bread .  A dough made from scratch, bite size pieces rolled in cinnamon sugar and baked in a caramel sauce.  Amazing! I first started making Homemade Monkey Bread from scratch in the early 70's using the number one cookbook for newlyweds, the Better Homes and Garden Cookbook , printed in 1971.

Three Cheese French Bread

Three Cheese French Bread,  family favorite!  Sometimes a meal just seem lonely without some gooey crunchy french bread. There are several methods of making french bread into this wonderful bread frenzy. I usually use what I have on hand. Sometimes I just like a buttery garlic spread, but what I like most is to put this wonderful cheese mixture that I use in my Homemade Cheddar and Greyer Bread .

Valentine Treats! Marshmallow Pops

Valentine's Marshmallow Pops are the perfect treat to make for celebrating Love in the air!  Each one can personalize their favorite candy.     What do you do with your grandchildren for Valentine's ?  In the last few years, one of my favorite things to do with the grandchildren around holidays or celebrations is to include them in making treats.  Not only is it fun for them, but they also have the time of their life getting to use their creativity and imagination, not to say their appetites too -- for all those yummy ingredients. This year I wanted to do something that they could dip chocolate in since I had so much left over from Christmas.  At first, I thought of strawberries (and they love those), then I thought about cake balls (and they love those), but I saw these strawberry marshmallows at Walmart and decided that they would be fun to dip too.  To add little piazzas to them, I bought some Valentine's sprinkles, and as you can see in the picture also, the cocon

Tortilla Ham and Cheese Pinwheels

Tortillia Ham and Cheese Pinwheels , a flavorful appetizer easy to prepare.  These are better made the day before, refrigerated and served the next day. When I saw these Tortilla Ham and Cheese Pinwheels over at Mommy's Kitchen, I knew that these would be on the menu for our Super Bowl Party. They are the most versatile appetizers you can make.

Frijole Bites aka {Homemade Mini Kolaches}

South of the Border Bites , a pastry that holds a spoonful of shredded cheese, pinto beans, and diced jalapenos.  Wrap up the mixture in a ball and lay upside down in a dish.  Brush with butter and bake.  Perfect bitesize bite!   The recipe for these South of the Border Bites aka "Kolaches" came about when I only used half of the dough from my Heavenly Cinnamon Rolls that I made on Saturday.

Delish! Texas Style BBQ Hot Wings

Texas Style BBQ  Hot Wings  are crispy, tender, spicy hot,  sticky sweet and smothered with Baby Ray BBQ Sauce.  Delish! I prefer to bake my chicken wings in the oven until golden brown and crispy instead of frying them. Especially while the Super Bowl Game is on, so I am free to get the rest of the appetizers ready. After they have baked, I toss them with a mixture of hot sauce and barbecue sauce. Not only do they call for a few ingredients, but also they are fast and easy to make. They are the perfect bite. In the beginning, you taste the tangy sweet and end up with that wonderful hot spicy flavor in the back of your mouth. The next time you are making some hot wings, think about making, Texas Style BBQ Hot Wings, you will not be disappointed! WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE TEXAS BBQ HOT WINGS 1 1/2-2 lbs. chicken wings, frozen generous amount of salt and pepper for brining 1 12 oz. bottle Texas Pete Hot Sauce 1-1 1/2 cups Baby Ray barbecue sau
