20+ Christmas Sweet Treats
Giving trays of homemade cookies and candies for gifts is a great way to celebrate the season. People always love getting cookies and boxes of homemade candy right up to Christmas and through to the New Year. Don’t wait to start baking. With Christmas just around the corner, baking is in full swing at my house. I love this time of the year, and I love putting together Christmas treat boxes and trays. It is still early enough to do some holiday baking.

Classic Bakery White Cake with Buttercream Frosting
Classic White Cake and Buttercream frosting , moist, tender bakery cake frosted with a delectable frosting that stands the test of time. The perfect cake for all your celebrations! White Cake is an American Classic. Growing up before bakeries were in grocery stores, I have memories of a particular bakery in our town. They made the most delicious baked goods. In our family, you knew if you had a celebration, your cake would be coming from there. This Classic White Cake reminds me of those from my childhood.

Creamy Jalapeno Corn Casserole
Creamy Jalapeno Corn Casserole , cream cheese, and whole kernel corn with a little kick from jalapenos make this an inviting casserole for any Thanksgiving meal. We pretty much have our menu down for Thanksgiving, and this Creamy Jalapeno Corn Casserole is one of the side dishes my daughter-in-law makes each year. It is easy and quick, with a great combination of flavor and crunch from the jalapenos and corn.

Honey Pumpkin Cornbread
When October comes around, I start thinking of all the recipes I can make with pumpkin. Last year I wanted to make Honey Pumpkin Cornbread and never got around to making it. For me, making any kind of cornbread other than the traditional is stepping out of the box, but I must say, it is absolutely delicious.

Homemade Chicken & Rice Soup
Homemade Chicken & Rice Soup reminds me of the days when I would open up a can of Campbell's Chicken and Rice Soup for a quick meal. Yes, I like Campbell's soups and still eat them on occasion, but I love homemade soup. The aroma it gives off while it is cooking is comforting in itself. I like to simmer up a big pot and freeze it in quart containers to have for lunch or a late supper. You can thaw it out in the microwave or set in the refrigerator the night before, and you can have it ready in as much time as it takes to open a can and cook it.

Baked Chicken and Dumplings
Baked Chicken and Dumplings has all the flavors of Homemade Chicken and Dumplings without rolling out the dumplings. This casserole is truly magic dumplings! My husband loves my Homemade Chicken and Dumpling recipe, and he was a little hesitant when I told him I was going to make Baked Chicken and Dumplings . He could not imagine how they would turn out, and I must say I was a little intrigued too.

Hobo Dinners
Hobo Dinners are a favorite around our house during the cooler months. I have meant to post this recipe, but it just seems other recipes get in front of it. Around this time last year we were visiting our niece and she served these delicious bundles for dinner. She is a wonderful cook and hostess. I just loved sitting at her table and enjoying her taste in food.
