Turkey Carcass Soup

Turkey Carcass Soup  is the most flavorful turkey soup you will ever make.  Don't throw the carcass away. It's the star of this recipe!   HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF LEFTOVER TURKEY When making your Thanksgiving turkey keep in mind the delicious soup you can make from the turkey bones and the lingering meat left on the bones.  It is the best kept secret for leftover makeover recipes. Instead of throwing out the turkey carcass, I put it in a stockpot and filled it with water.  Simmer it for an hour or two, and then easily remove the meat.   Discard the bones and add your vegetables, and 15 minutes before serving, add the pasta shell.

Eggnog Pumpkin Pie

Eggnog Pumpkin Pie , a perfect combination of two flavors that join us for the holidays!  This recipe reminds me of having a slice of Pumpkin Pie with a cup of eggnog.   This pie is a little twist on a traditional recipe.  Our family is not too much a fan of pumpkin pie. I think it is because pumpkin pie to us is so bland--- so when I first saw this recipe over at Joy's blog, I knew I had to make it.

Hamburger Steak

Hamburger Steak , a Southern classic for umpteen years.  The hamburger is seasoned well, typically shaped into steaks, coated with flour, and fried in a little oil.  And remember to save the drippings to make the creamy gravy. Grandmother's Hamburger Steak With Cream Gravy Grandmother's   recipe is simple, but the gravy is what wows me–– it just keeps in all the juiciness of the meat.   In the last three years, I've noticed in the blog world how many ways you can make Hamburger Steak .  This old fashioned American classic dish is packed with flavor and doesn't break the bank,

Pumpkin Recipes

Ten plus recipes made with pumpkin, canned, or fresh.  I have included cakes, cinnamon rolls, muffins, soups, and a recipe for the most delicious Honey Pumpkin Cornbread. Are you a fan of pumpkin recipes?  I can't wait for Pumpkin season.  It seems to come earlier and earlier every year. Even though some of the pumpkin products may be marketing ploys some people seem to welcome it back every year. Part of the hoopla is the warmth the fall season brings, mugs of apple cider and pumpkin bread, playing in the leaves, and wrapping up in cozy blankets.

Daddy's Lemon Icebox Pie {Granny's Recipe}

Lemon Icebox Pie , classic Southern dessert traditionally set in the refrigerator before serving and that is how it gets the name "icebox".  Perfect dessert to say goodbye to long and sweltering days of summer. The one thing I remember most about my Mother making this Lemon Icebox Pie is that it was one of my Father's all time favorite desserts.

Old Fashioned Chicken Pot Pie

Classic Chicken Pot Pie is made with a whole chicken, mixed vegetables, a homemade white sauce and baked in a blanket of flaky crust. While my daughter in law, Brandy, was on bed rest awaiting the arrival of our granddaughter, her friend, Rachel, brought over this delicious Chicken Pot Pie.

A Southern July 4th Tradition! Mother's Cherry Cheesecake Pie {Granny's Recipe}

Celebrate the red, white and blue with this classic cheesecake pie. Perfect for a picnic or 4th of July party, the smooth and creamy cheesecake pie filling in graham crust will be a crowd pleaser for sure! All my growing up years, I remember my Mother making this Cherry Cheesecake Pie in the summer around the July 4th depending on what day it fell on closest to the weekend. She always would have to make two of them so there would be enough to go around.

Crusty Breaded Pork Chops with Caramelized Purple Onions

Crusty Breaded Pork Chops have a wonderful home-cooked flavor like the ones my Mom used to make. The breading makes them crispy outside and tender and juicy inside. My husband has been so hungry for Crusty Breaded Pork Chops  that I took a recipe that I generally make liver and onions by and used it this time for the pork chops.

Cranberry Raspberry Crumb Bars

. I am so happy to be guest posting for Melissa from Served Up with Love today.  I wish we lived next door to each other so we can share our recipes with a morning cup of coffee like we did at the Southern Food Bloggers Retreat.
