Venison Soup with Roasted Vegetables,  a rich and flavorful healthy soup. This soup is made with roasted root vegetables and homemade beef broth that enhances the flavors. My husband is an avid deer hunter and between him providing the deer meat, and my son and son-in-love, we are blessed with an abundance of venison which I am so happy to have.

Classic Southern Cornbread

Classic Southern Cornbread is the iconic bread of the South that has graced tables for generations.   GRANNY'S SOUTHERN CORNBREAD My Mother's recipe is simple and straightforward. It is cooked in an iron skillet using three must ingredients: bacon drippings, buttermilk, and yellow cornmeal.   About cornbread , I don’t want to expound on this too much for fear of stepping on some people's toes. The people in the North like cornbread, made with sugar, half cornmeal, and half flour. But the people in the South like their cornbread with cornmeal and a little flour, if any, and definitely no sugar. Also, southern cornbread is traditionally made in an iron skillet, giving it the desired crispy crust I like so much. I must say, my taste for cornbread has been swayed to somewhere in the middle because I actually like both recipes.  I go back and forth. These cute pink pokka dotted oversize cups and plates were a featured item that Pampered Chef offered 3 or 4 years ago for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I couldn't resist just featuring them to bring the attention that October is the month for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month . Be good to yourselves and get your mammograms. This is something that is dear to my heart with having been touched by breast cancer in my own family.

Crockpot Chili , slow cook chili with flavorful browned ground beef, beans, tomatoes, spicy seasonings, and a secret ingredient.  The perfect meal to make ahead during the week.  It has won 4 chili cook-offs.  Save any leftovers and serve it over chili dogs, Frito pies and chili cornbread!  The possibilities are endless! With the announcement of a Chili Cook-off at our church, I knew I had to enter my recipe for chili. I created this recipe a few years back.  The flavors are amazing, but I want the flavors to bounce right into a win, so I added a little secret ingredient, canned jalapeno juice.  It did the trick--oh! my.

Homemade Chicken and Dumplings  will bring back memories of dinner at Granny's.  These are the real deal, old fashioned tender dumplings made from scratch, cooked in a rich broth from a whole chicken. I'm telling you--the real deal!   Every time I make chicken and dumplings, I think of my Aunt making these for me when I was young. I don't ever remember her actually making them because she always had them ready to eat when we got to her house.

Perfect Green Beans have to be fresh, crisp in texture and seasoned perfectly.  These Green Beans have all of the above, making them  PERFECT.  Perfect Green Beans have a fresh and crisp texture to them that I call the perfect cooked green beans, crunchy yet tender. They are a fairly inexpensive vegetable and are a great side dish with any main course. They were a great side dish with my Stuffed Bell Peppers .
