Mincemeat Gingerbread is a combination of two intense flavors that go together delightfully! After looking around on Twitter, other blogs, and especially knowing how my daughters and daughter in love feel about this wonderful ingredient, mincemeat, I did not know if I really wanted to post this recipe or not.

Stuffed Round Steak

Stuffed Round Steak, boneless round steak rolled up with a breadcrumb mixture of herbs and seasonings.  This dish is an incredibly flavorful main dish that can be served for any fancy dinner party or the humblest of guests.  This is a great recipe to serve for Thanksgiving if you are not a fan of turkey! In 1981, I entered a cooking contest on a local TV show, P M Magazine, that came on each night after the evening news. As I am writing this blog post, I am thinking about the economy as it was in the 80's, as in comparison to today's economy. The unemployment rate was high, and jobs were also hard to find.

About the apple itself, you could say it has been around for a long time too, as far back as the beginning of time. Sometimes in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, we will never lose our value in God's eyes. To Him, dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, we are still priceless to Him. Psalm 17:8 states that God will keep us, as the apple of His eye . Since the beginning of time, He created us to be the reflection of Hi

Classic Southern Cornbread

Classic Southern Cornbread is the iconic bread of the South that has graced tables for generations.   GRANNY'S SOUTHERN CORNBREAD My Mother's recipe is simple and straightforward. It is cooked in an iron skillet using three must ingredients: bacon drippings, buttermilk, and yellow cornmeal.   About cornbread , I don’t want to expound on this too much for fear of stepping on some people's toes. The people in the North like cornbread, made with sugar, half cornmeal, and half flour. But the people in the South like their cornbread with cornmeal and a little flour, if any, and definitely no sugar. Also, southern cornbread is traditionally made in an iron skillet, giving it the desired crispy crust I like so much. I must say, my taste for cornbread has been swayed to somewhere in the middle because I actually like both recipes.  I go back and forth. Sometimes, I want the salty, tangy taste of my Mother's cornbread, and sometimes, I like the sweetness of the n
