BBQ Ranch Stuffed Eggs

This recipe comes from Melissa d'Arabian the winner of season five of "The Next Food Network Stars".  I immediately wanted to make these BBQ Ranch Stuffed Eggs as soon as I saw her making them on her new show Ten Dollar Dinners.  A quick, inexpensive appetizer, and a great twist on an already family favorite. My tip for the perfect boiled eggs 1.  Always put a single layer of eggs in a saucepan and do not crowd.  If eggs are cold from the refrigerator fill the pot with cold water.  If the eggs are from the counter or at room temperature fill the pot with room temperature water. 2.  Bring water to a boil and boil for 3 minutes.  3.  Remove pot from the burner.  Put a lid on the pot and let set undisturbed for 15 minutes.   4.  Pour water off of the eggs holding the lid to keep eggs from falling out. 5.  With the eggs still in the pot gently shake them against the sides of the pan and up and down to crack the shell around the hot eggs. 6.  Pu

Very Simplistic Bread Pudding {Granny's Recipe}

My Mother always cooked exceptionally great food with few ingredients, and her Very Simplistic Bread Pudding was no exception. OLD FASHIONED SOUTHERN BREAD PUDDING There are no special ingredients or fussy techniques to make bread pudding.  This is a dessert that was born out of hard times to use every little bit of leftover bread.  And has become a beloved dessert of the South. Growing up, I never thought of this dessert as a no-frills dessert, just a delicious, comforting dessert that makes you look forward to leftover rolls, breakfast toast, and any stale bread in the bread box.

Napa Cabbage and Leeks

Do you want a new side dish that is easy and quick? My husband is a big fan of cabbage. and I try to make it as often as I can.  He loves Cole Slaw, Cabbage Rolls, Sauteed Cabbage; you name it, and if it has cabbage in it, he is happy.   It is fairly inexpensive and easy to cook as a side dish or added to a main dish.

Apple Walnut Zucchini Bread

Quick Bread is one of the first things that I learned to make in my first year of Home Economics.  Now you can tell how old I am. (he he)   I have to say, Home Economics was always my favorite class in my high school years, and interestingly enough, since I was in high school, that class has undergone numerous name and status changes.  Like the cooking part---the class I took is now totally separate and called Culinary Arts Class.  Historically, the class was mostly women, but with the serge in the culinary field, that has changed.  Quick Bread is a term used in making a bread batter that is made rather quickly using a leavening agent other than yeast.  Zucchini bread falls in that category. I am a big fan of fresh apple cake .  After I saw the recipe for Zucchini Bread over at Joy of Bak ing and she added an apple to her recipe, I decided to add grated apple to my recipe too.  This Apple Walnut Zucchini Bread reminds me a lot of Carrot Bread, but without the
