Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Hannah, my granddaughter, made these Classic Peanut Butter Cookies during our cookie marathon I had when the Grandchildren were here. These effortless cookies have that sweet and salty flavor that makes them irresistible.

Use your favorite name brand of Peanut Butter with a combination of white sugar and brown sugar for a chewy sweet treat. No fancy ingredients here.

I have loved Peanut butter cookies for as long as I can remember.  Did you know that the peanut butter cookie recipe goes all the way back to the 1910s?

When you see a crisscross pattern on cookies, you automatically know they are Classic Peanut Butter Cookies.  As history goes, the crisscross was popularized by Pillsbury in the 1930s.

Hannah did a great job making sure that all the cookies were the same size and that the crisscross was just right. You could say that they are made with pure love!

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter (I use Jiff)
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoons vanilla
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Mix together peanut butter, butter, brown sugar, milk, vanilla, and egg in a bowl of an electric mixer with the paddle attachment.

In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; add to the creamy mixture and mix until well blended.

Using a scoop that measures 1 tablespoon, drop dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper 2-inches apart. Flatten each cookie with a fork in a crisscross manner.

Bake for 7-8 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool on parchment paper for 2 minutes or until the cookie has set before moving it to a cooling rack to finish cooling.
