Buttery Fresh Herb Tea Biscuits

Little Fresh Herb Tea Biscuits,  a sweet fluffy biscuit dipped in buttery fresh minced herbs, a perfect accompaniment to stews and soups or brunch with a bit of ham in between them.

We enjoyed these Little Fresh Herb Tea Biscuits with a bowl of  Beef Stew with Butternut Squash and Fennel
.

By rich, I mean an already tasty biscuit dunked in a bowl of melted butter and fresh herbs. Once you taste these biscuits you will not be able to put them down. They are simply scrumptious!

Fresh Herb Tea Biscuits
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2-1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. fresh minced thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. fresh minced parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a bowl cream the butter and honey well.

Add the dry ingredients, then the a 1/2 cup milk at first mixing with a fork.  Add a 1 tablespoon at a time as needed to form a soft dough.

Turn out on slightly floured board and gather the dough together to make a 1/2 inch round circle.

Using a 1 1/2 inches wide biscuit cutter or as small as you have, cut the biscuits.

Lay biscuits on a sheet pan without each one of them touching each other.

Bake for 10-15 minutes.

In a small tall bowl (I use my 2 cup measuring cup) mix butter and herbs; set aside.

Take biscuits out of the oven and let rest for 10 minutes. Dunk in the butter mixture and serve immediately.

Cook's Note: Biscuits can be made ahead of time and heated in the oven and then dunked before serving.
